🍀 Is it wear-green-to-work day?

At today’s AMA session*, I read this post by my mentor and friend Simone (@simone.grace.seol on Instagram).

Not everything is going to be okay.

Many of us — for no fault of our own — will experience career setbacks, encounter racism, sexism, and discrimination in the workplace.

And as Simone says, our assignment is NOT to try to fix ourselves to accommodate a broken world, but to “carry this truth without yielding to despair.“

Our assignment is to tend to the “flames of radical hope — the kind that demands our grittiest love and biggest imagination.”

So...
How can you direct compassion to yourself when things don’t turn out the way you hoped?

How can you ignite your imagination, lean into the 1% possibility that — even when you’re on the ground with mud on your face — the worst thing that just happened may in the long run turn out to be the beginning of something so much better?

Jobs come and go.

Bad leadership does too.

But what can never be taken away is your whole, beautiful brain — capable of imagining a new future, an ounce more peace and grounded confidence than before.

On a separate note --

It’s easy to forget what an incredible privilege, astonishing gift it is to be a woman — anyway you define womanhood.

In this photo, I’m graced by two gorgeous genderqueer girlfriends for whom embracing their femininity is a brave step in bucking the “rules.”

They teach me by their example how to celebrate my own femininity, to see it as inherently divine and infinitely worthy.

🍀 And how to match sparkly green eyeshadow with your St Patrick’s Day outfit.

For that, I am so grateful!
