Negotiate The Unwritten Rules

Negotiate The Unwritten Rules

Have you ever felt like there were unwritten rules of leveling up and getting ahead in the workplace that NO ONE TOLD YOU ABOUT?

If you're reading this, then you've probably already wised to the truth that keeping your head down and silently doing good work DON'T get you promoted. It's not the fast track to promotion; it's the fast track to exhaustion.

Being strategic with your long-term goals, however, will help you navigate the unwritten rules.

Asking in a smart way, I've found, always works.

Okay, so you might be wondering, how do you ask in a smart way for what you want and enhance relationships at the same time?

What if it just seems impossible?

For example, how do you get the decision maker to give you buy-in when they don't even know you?

I want to help you through this.

So join me in a free Zoom Meeting class (and live discussion with yours truly) on Negotiating and Navigating the Unwritten Rules THIS FRIDAY, 7/5 at 1pm EST.

FYI, this is a special preview of a live, interactive workshop of the same title that I'll be leading next Wednesday at 2019 Multicultural Women's National Conference.

Here's a detailed description of the live workshop:

Women often lack access to informal networks in the workplace that can provide critical insights into the unwritten rules of advancement. While not knowing the unwritten rules can be detrimental to your career, and pocketbook, it’s possible to build strategic alliances, and to negotiate and navigate the unwritten rules to level up. This engaging and highly interactive leadership workshop is a two-part process where you’ll:

1. Understand the root of all behavior, which will help you generate and maintain self-confidence and improve self-leadership, while gaining insight into the mindset of your strategic allies.

2. Start practicing concrete strategies of collaborative negotiation, tailored to the needs of women of all backgrounds, and drafting a custom strategy for building an alliance of influencers, mentors, champions, and decision-makers, so you can level up in your career.

Since not all of you are based in NYC or will attend this conference, I thought it would be fun to host a live Zoom Meeting, where I will share insights, research data, and facilitate a live virtual discussion with you.

The meeting will be on Friday, or the day after fireworks and barbecue. 1pm EST.

Keep in mind this is a Zoom Meeting, so please be ready to join via video. I ask that you join from a quiet room where you won't be interrupted for the full hour.

Looking forward to speaking with you,
Jamie

P.S. Would you like some help negotiating and navigating the unwritten rules of the workplace? It might feel impossible now, but it's 100% possible for you to lead strategic conversations with people you ALREADY know to start building relationship capital and to start getting to where you WANT to go in your career. If there's drama, politics, and red tape you want to cut through, I can help you. If you'd like to find out how we might work together, I invite you to fill out this application and I'll be in touch.
